Today is an exciting day for me. I am finishing up on a project I started a few months back, It's a short film called Ghost in the Graveyard. It is the first time I have played the main character before, usually I'm in smaller bit parts or supporting parts. My character's name is John and he is a high school janitor. He is kind of a broken man, has problems focusing on reality and is kind of a big kid. The story moves in and out of flashbacks and in the present time, over the course of a very long day for John.
We have filmed off and on and the director started this project about a year ago. I'm the 3rd actor to take on this part and I told him I would damn sure be the last. I had a blast working on it. Most of the time it was only myself, the director who also wrote and produced it, and the director of photography who also handled the lighting. We would shoot when we could all get together and I have been juggling several projects in between like back when we started, I was juggling 5 TV pilots plus this short and another guerrilla film I have been attached to. Also for having almost zero $$ budget, they have pulled off some ambitious shots like a reflection in water transition and even some green screen work. One scene we shot with about 20 student extras, I had to move in slow motion while everyone walked around me normally. When they speed up the film it looks like everyone is running around me. We are shooting on 1080p digital and the few scenes I saw looked great! We are sending it to many festivals and I'll be sure to show it in someway on here.
Here's one of the pics of me in uniform and in the high school we shot at!
