Acting Training, How much is enough?

I've been in this industry for more than 15years  I have had my constant ups and downs like any other performer, some more or less than others.  If there's one thing I can always count on to pick me back up, especially during the down times, is any form of acting training whether it be something as simple as a yoga or voice class to a high intensive actor's workshop.  I'm sure many people who are not familiar with the film, TV and theatre industry wonder when we stop training or when it becomes unnecessary.   The answer?... it never stops ever.   Professional athletes always need to keep their training up to date otherwise.... they wouldn't be professional anymore.  It's not any different for actors.  When a movie star gets a role, the good ones do their character research and private coaching to make sure that they incorporate their research into their character prep.  With many dollars on the line they can't afford not to.Good top of the line acting training is very very hard to come by here in Asia.  Especially crafted towards Film and TV.  Actor, Writer, Producer Jason Tobin has realized this has gone to great strives these last few years to bring us LA Acting coach Jeanne Hartman.  I worked closely with Jeanne last summer to develop my character , Quentin Wong, for the financial thriller "Supercapitalist".  The role was challenging but she helped me to discover what would work best for me.  She also coached me for my role on "Man With The Iron Fists".Jeanne will be back in HK starting this week. I have seen skeptics come out of her workshops refreshed and with a new outlook.  Not only has she exposed actors to new things, she has showed directors how to be more productive with their actors and showed writers how to be more productive with their characters.  Jeanne is offering something new this time around.  it's something not only for actors, this course is ideal for people who wish to improve on their public speaking(CEOs, hosts, masters of ceremonies etc).   For course details you can go to Jason Tobin's event page .  You also can view testimonials from actors on this page.  Any of these courses also makes for a great gift for someone you know who acts or is considering getting into the game.If you want to know what Jeanne's training has produced for her students here in HK?:A handful students were casted in the financial thriller " Supercapitalist"8 out of the 10 Alive Not Dead Artists who were casted in "Man With The Iron Fists" were Jeanne's students. For local actors in HK who have never taken her workshops... what are you waiting for?   Come and challenge yourself.  You have nothing to lose.  For more information on Jeanne you can go to her site.http://www.jeannehartmanactorsdetective.com/

Darren, I'm truly honored by your words. You have shared so beautifully that actors work hard to prepare so that the audience believes it just comes easily. That's great acting. Darren you have grown so much in your work and you continue to challenge yourself. That is the sign of a truly professional artist! thanks so much

So true, Darren! Having an athlete's mindset for acting training is the right way to go. I'm looking forward to seeing your performances in Supercapitalist and Man With The Iron Fists.
