Michael Jackson, remember what was good.

Yesterday I received a Chain Email of a Michael Jackson joke.  I don't have it anymore cause I had deleted it upon reading.  Basically the premise was how Farah Fawcett died and when she got to the pearly gates she was offered by St. Paul one wish.  She asked for the all the children in the world to be safe.....  well you figure out the rest of the joke.  I won't lie.  At the odd time in my life I did crack a smile at the odd Michael Jackson joke.  But when I read this one the thought never even crossed my mind.  More like a feeling of shame  and embaressment of how we as human beings can be so cruel as to take pleasure in the death of, who will forever be, an icon in everyone's eyes for years to come.             Was he the most perfect man in the world?  Well if you reflect on his personal life, no he wasn't.  From a troubled childhood, to sexual harrassment scandals to overkill on plastic surgery, his life was anything but perfect.  But it wasn't all bad.  He did love, he did bring children into this world and was anything but selfish.  He helped to raise millions of dollars for the following charities that benefitted so many people:*AIDS Project L.A. *American Cancer Society *Angel Food *Big Brothers of Greater Los Angeles *BMI Foundation, Inc. *Brotherhood Crusade *Brothman Burn Center *Camp Ronald McDonald *Childhelp U.S.A. *Children's Institute International *Cities and Schools Scholarship Fund *Community Youth Sports & Arts Foundation *Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) *Dakar Foundation *Dreamstreet Kids *Dreams Come True Charity *Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation *Juvenile Diabetes Foundation *Love Match *Make-A-Wish Foundation *Minority Aids Project *Motown Museum *NAACP *National Rainbow Coalition *Rotary Club of Australia *Society of Singers *Starlight Foundation *The Carter Center's Atlanta Project *The Sickle Cell Research Foundation *Transafrica *United Negro College Fund (UNCF) *United Negro College Fund Ladder's of Hope *Volunteers of America *Watts Summer Festival *Wish Granting *YMCA - 28th Street/Crenshaw                 Who will ever forget his marriage to Lisa Marie Presley (daughter of another King)If there's one thing that he never failed at, it was to ENTERTAIN.  His music, videos and signature dance moves inspired many of the great music artists of today like Justin Timberlake, and will continue to do so for generations to come (just as Elvis Presley has).         Who can ever forget his kick ass performance at the 1993 SuperBowl  Halftime show, deemed the best show of all time.           Thriller, the album that probably truly launched him into stardom.  You'll never fail to find "Beat It" on the top ten list of all time favourite songs.                                                                    Hoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!                                      Guys, don't tell me that you have never tried this signature move atleast once in ur life.               Michael posing with another icon, Paul McCartney.  Their friendship of course went sour when Jackson ended up out bidding the purchase of the Beatles song catalogue.  Not a positive moment in his life, but business is just business sometimes unfortunately.  Rumor has it that he may have possibly willed it to McCartney.  Who knows, maybe Jackson knew that Yoko Ono had the money to outbid McCartney.                    He went through many fashion trends, and he always made it look good.                                                                                                                                    People gathering to reflect and remember. In one way or another he inspired us, or at minimal, left an impression that will last for years to come.  It will  be something that we will have tell our children and grand children about, because they will ask "who was Michael Jackson?".  Question is, will you tell a joke, will you say something negative, or will you tell them about how he inspired so many people.  So people please, let the man Rest in Peace.  Lay off the jokes if you have any decency, even if you manage to do it for a moment.  RIP Michael.                                                 Michael Jackson 1958 - 2009                           (Thank you for leaving behind a Legacy)Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zpTQCQEFhg&feature=PlayList&p=FC071FED70ECA016&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=11He made that change to make the world a better place.  Question is, do we?
