I saw this video at a recent E.V.E.N.T. gathering and instantly fell in love with it.  For those of you who may not have heard of E.V.E.N.T., it’s an organization designed to showcase both international and local HK artists through all available forms of media: filmmaking, theater, music, dance, etc.  For me, the video perfectly captures the “can do” spirit of HK’s independent filmmaking scene, which I’ve always found inspiring and which led to my decision to make my first feature there.  The video also features a number of my dear friends and collaborators, a great theme song (“I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas), and the girls are pretty cute, too.  While the vast majority of the HK film community seems to have relocated to Beijing in recent years, it’s nice to know there are still some artists, filmmakers, and others who’ve remained behind and are fighting the good fight every day.Hang in there, guys.-DaxP.S.
