It can't get anymore priceless than this...

I've been called many things in my life...

Most people don't speak French and I would never expect them to pronounce Duuhneeese properly. I've been called 'Dennis' as in a boy's name (all my life), most Chinese people pronounce it a 'Deeneese" and lastly my favorite of them all 'Dahneese'. The list of variation continues as I get older... And that's just my FIRST name.

Keller is such a German name, it doesn't get anymore Deutsch than that. And again 'L' to most Asians is a tongue twister. In Japan I watch in amazement how most hotel staff hurt themselves by calling me: 'Ms Kerureru'. And back home, cab drivers get a kick out of calling me 'Ms Killer', which I don't mind so much. In return I get an imaginative movie scene, jumping out of the car with my mobile being a gun. I digress...

I arrived at HK airport for Mastercard's Luxury Week Press Conference recently, only to be picked up by my limo driver with a signboard that says:

Very riceless...I mean, priceless..

I got my last name pronounced the wrong way most of my life (after leaving my hometown). I don't mind switching my first name to its 'English version' but nobody has got anywhere close to what my last name's supposed to sound like. The coolest thing happened a couple of weeks ago though, I had to sign a receipt referring to me as 'Mr. Thomas HELL'. Woohoo! I rock!

fuckin' hilarious! "getting picked up at the airport by a limo - $500, Hand Made Sign - $1, Mastercard hiring a driver who can't spell - Priceless!"

I wonder what's the worst one though, your name completely off or as it happened to me once, that dumbass has written a freakin' essay on that paper... with some fading out/half gone shitty red marker. Sounds not too bad but imagine that was in Mumbai after midnight, with 200 guys shoving each other holding name-boards and shouting and a dozen touts trying to get some business out of me the whole time. Eventually after managing to call the hotel, they told me the guy was there, but then he's the one who found me at the phone booth and I had to wait 'til he got four feet away from my face to find my name on that thing. It went something like this: 'Footcandle sq834 Infinite Frameworks thomas hall mr. Something hotel' and maybe even more useless details. I should have asked to keep it, a good example of what NOT to do.

Hahaha! Too funny! In HK, when I try to give my name over the phone, even when I spell it out for them ("Ivy, that's I-V-Y"), they always seem to hear IDY or IBY. How difficult can 3 letters be?!

LULZ... If that was a band I'd totally buy their CD. Are you sure that car was for you? I'd hate to be the guy who's real first name is Dense and have to be stranded at the airport....
