Alanis Morisette "Flavors of Entanglement"

I just had a chance to hear tracks off the forthcoming Alanis Morisette album which drops worldwide tomorrow ... "Flavors of Entanglement" ... Solid stuff; rock, heavily electronic influenced, and seriously high production values. It still sounds like Alanis, but she's off-one on the crazy drugs that only androids from a different would planet take.

If you were a fan of her old stuff, well, this is completely different ... the only reason I mention the album is because my good friend (and the guy who taught me how to use Logic almost 8 years ago) is responsible for mixing, programming & performing on almost all the tracks. And you can utterly hear it. Andy Page produced some of the most mind blowing club music known to man, but because of it's awesomeness it never found wide appeal. Dude's a genius and I've been ripping off his technique for years!

Check it out. You heard it here first :)

Andy Page worked on the Alanis Morisette album??? That's another guy we've been wanting to bring to SF.

Album highlight for me so far is "Citizen Of The Planet" ... the mixing job done on this is outstanding for a commercial recording ... the quiet bits are really quiet and loud bits are really bloody loud; the contrast between both is fresh. Bring back dynamic range to pop music!
