I left it on the sofa (running) without thinking about it for a couple hours. No airflow underneath + overheating = crack.
Bought a new one from http://myworld.ebay.com/glyifan who got me a new one delivered 24 hours after I paid for it.
Cheaper and faster than Apple, go figure!
