a busy week

finished another term of school (video forthcoming), have a huge event this Friday night, wushu tournament to attend (not competing, nor judging) on Saturday and then on Monday...off to Hong Kong!

Friday is our DJ crew's 4th anniversary party.  can't believe we've been doing it this long!  i'm putting together a video slideshow of photos from most of our past parties and its brought back so many good memories!  i wrote a completely sappy blog on my Tribe page for my DJ/club/party/rave friends.  i'll spare you that touchy feely stuff.

Saturday is the UC Berkeley CMAT and for the first time since 1996 i will be neither competing NOR judging.  hallelujah!  though i'm still training wushu a bit, i finally feel like i can step away from being involved in tournaments.  the last two years judging at CMAT was way more responsibility than i think i feel comfortable with at this point in my life.  obviously, i still want to go and reconnect with wushu friends....but with the party the night before going until atleast 4am, i don't plan on showing up at the tournament until the afternoon (hopefully, not still hungover).

i've been trying to be good at listening to my Pimsleur Cantonese lessons on my iPod, but i highly doubt i'll have any command of the language by the time i land in HK on Tuesday morning.  i can say hello, thank you and "i don't understand Cantonese."  i think i can count to four.

in other news, i ran into an old college friend at the bus stop today.  turns out he moved to the area just a couple months ago and to top things off, he lives only a few blocks from me.  the world is small, i tell you.  he also knew DW back in Oregon and we talked about his movie career.  i mentioned that i'd be in Hong Kong but that DW would be out of town.

anyhow, i think this is the most blog like blog i've posted on AnD.  you people have me hooked.  damn you.
