The Road to Rooks 4

Long time no hear… things have been pretty interesting since The Road to Rooks 3 – for those new to my blog please read RTR 1-3 before continuing. (Tick tock, tick tock) Wow! That was quick… Ok, so now that you’re up to speed on the never boring journey of D. Miles we pick up with the countless emails send out to sales agents and producers. After what seemed to be an eternity I started to get calls from producers but all of them with the exception of a few, who will remain nameless, gave me the run-a-round. If it wasn’t a double or triple (million dollar) digit project they weren’t interested. I was shocked because none of them were top A-list producers!  Go figure… The ones that talked with me were very helpful in pointing me in the right direction and applauded me for not giving up on my dream and doing things the unconventional way. Who needs a sales agent that will rape you for more than half the profits and doesn’t have the passion or belief in the project? I was determined more than ever to prove the critics wrong and make this project work! I have a decent scrīpt, awesome talent, and a Bank funding my project. All I needed was a distributor and distribution contracts for the Bank in order to complete the funding for my project. Sounds pretty simple right! Easy money for any sales agent or producer willing to do a little work, and I do mean LITTLE. Apparently not, because for the last couple of months the sales agent/producer, who will remain nameless sat on my project and didn’t have the common courtesy to call me and tell me that he put me on hold for his own projects… Yes, projects as in multiple ultra-low/no budget projects. I swear I felt like going AMERICAN GANGSTER on his entire low budget company. I believe in KARMA and one day soon when all the dust has cleared and my project is released, allot of people will be kicking themselves for not believing in the amazing D.Y. Sao and me. The journey is far from over but to sum up RTR 4… I recently negotiated a deal with an independent studio connected to a major studio and they are putting my deal with together as I write this blog, and the deal includes not only the “Rooks” project but also two more major projects already in development! I can’t wait to talk about RTR 5… because it involves some familiar faces here on . Definitely to be continued…
