Daughters…

This story has always impacted me.

A little girl is turning 12, and it’s her birthday. She is “daddy’s little girl.” Prior to this evening, the father asked the little girl if he could take her out on a date. The little girl who adores her father has accepted. As the evening begins, the father is dressed up and is looking very handsome. Before taking her out and about the town, he gives her flowers and beautiful necklace.

That night he takes her out to a fancy restaurant, and they go out for a show. Later on they go to a little cafe and chat. He gives her all of his attention and makes sure that the she knows that she is absolutely captivating.

Honestly I don’t really remember the story, but I imagine that’s kind of how it went. Anyhow, I love the father in how he purposely makes sure his daughter knows how precious she is. Before any other boy ever talks to her or even approaches her, he will have set the standard. Her “normal,” will now be that of a princess. She will always know that she is worth it, and know not to settle for anything less.
