The Pig and The Bird Had a Conference (Transcript) + Prayers by Patrick Chow and Lydia Kuan

P: Look here! How long are they going to pull this off! First the bird flu, now the swine flu, when are these beings going to stop shoving all the responsibilities onto us? Study has already reported that the flu is not infecting pigs and has never been seen in pigs. Then why is it called "Swine Flu?"

B: I don't know man... I'm as buffled as you are... They said we are the cause of "Avian Flu", you know... I'm just a chick... I know nothing... I'm not a scientist... I eat corn and worms and whatever thrash those beings fed to me.... I can't do a thing with wings! and I had never complaint about the food....

P: Neither had I...Well, how unfair can it get, when the human gets flu, the authorities struggle and scrumble to get the vaccine, what do we get... massacre...I feel marginalised and victimised...

B: Talking about that... you are so much better off than me, brother... look at what they have done to us.

P: Well, I'm sorry about what has happened mate... but look here, we are no better off... there is always a better way of sacrificing ourselves.... I would rather die feeding someone's hunger.... then to pass them flu virus, which I was myself totally an unsuspected victim!

B: Yah, I totally agree, first it was the bird, then the swine, now they say its going to be the bird and swine... as if we are going to consumate or something...should we even be talking?

P: Maybe, if they have taken good care of us in the first place,... we won't get the flu... if we don't get them, we won't pass them on to the human... not that we want to...be slaughtered for no cause of ours.

B: Well, we have to wait and see man... this is not the end...

P: We shouldn't get too close... I hope you won't get the flu and pass it on to me...

B: No, no... I'm going to stay away from you.... I don't want to get the flu from you either...

P & B: Yah, lets all stay away from each other...! Do you think we can also get on the internet and join some social networking site... perhaps?

Silently, The Pig and the Bird retreat to their respective world, dwell in their own thoughts. Both innoccent victims of human exploitation, they share a common compassionate feeling for one another, understanding the plight that each has to face in the coming future. They were to face their identical fate of being targeted as the cause of the misery of human kinds..., you can hear the prayers of the two farm friends.

(Pig bored in his muddy pen gazed up at The Bird flapping its wings leaped onto the farmyard fencing) Afternote to Patrick: Needed to make amendment, "The Bird" we are referring to the Chickens and Hens etc, not the sparrow or eagle... so it can't really glide beautifully through the farmyard sky...hahahaha.)

P: ....Lord, it is so unfair I don't have wings and can't leap higher to see the beautiful landscape ... obviously, you must love The Bird more!

(The Bird  flaps monotonously in the air, looked down at Pig having so much fun rolling in his mud pool)  B: ... Lord, it is so unfair I can't relax all day long in a warm mud bath ... obviously, you must love The Pig more!

(The Bird overheard The Pig muttering his prayer and flew closer to the ledge of the sty) B: "My wings aren't the same as those of the birds that fly in the sky but still I could just jump off a high place and flap my wings, you can do the same, flaps your fore and hind legs ... it is natural - it is God's gift!"

(Pig look up and smiled to The Bird) P: "Roll around anytime in the mud to keep yourself cool and philosophical ... it is natural - it is God's gift"

....For a moment they found solace in the comforting words of their friends.

For all his wisdom, The Pig said his prayer: P: Lord, I know that grass is always greener on the other side ...

    There are reasons why Pigs can't fly ... and why Birds don't bathe in mud ...

    We are all given special gifts from God ...we should open our eyes and cherish them ...

    Be blessed with CONTENTMENT and let God decide ...

    Have FAITH in you dear Lord and be blessed .... Amen.

The Bird, the chatty and positive soul said her prayer:

Hi God, thank you, thank you so much for finally heeding my prayer. Even though there is an old adage that people use about Pigs being able to fly when they mean something impossible will never come to be, I think some pigs are hoping they have wings now so they can fly out of their situation. I am however really happy and sad about the situation because being a bird, it has been absolutely difficult to disassociate myself whenever the Bird Flu comes to mind.

Everyone in my family got butchered a few years ago when I was a little baby chick and luckily for me I managed to play dead and escaped. It was the Bird Flu season then and all my friends were confined and sent to be slaughtered!!!! I remember hearing them scream and flock furiously to attempt to fly into freedom, but alas to no avail. So now that people have sort placed their interests into the Swine flu situation, we're sort of safer for now. Yes I know some countries in Asia still come up with possible Bird Flu cases but I think God, if Paddy and I were praying at the same time I must have prayed slightly harder since erm, it appears the pigs are really getting massacred now, and I'm left to wander in peace.

How about it God, maybe erm let the pigs off too? Let us all be free and the humans can stop killing us all whenever there are problems. I mean, I know they eat us up anyway but it feels sad that we're in a holocaust whenever a new disease appears. It's like we get blamed and died being sinners. Boo hoo hoo.

(Obviously, The Pig and The Bird wished all these wouldn't happen to them, they knew too that they can't stop the human from shoving the blames on them... In their heart, they feel really sad.... TBC)

Lazy. Thanks to Lydia for the prayer of the The Bird, reading it, I knew she knew what I needed to weave a convincing story.

This is also the story of three friends that met online in alivenotdead and decided to pool their creative efforts together to write a silly little story that nevertheless aims to tell a bigger story of the plight of THE PIG and THE BIRD, in their perspective.... if only Pig and Bird can talk... what would they say. Luckily they can't... if they could, the court might be overruled.

This is going to morph into something totally hilarious.... its the "ANIMAL FARM" on AnD though it will not reach that level given that I'm no where near that standard...hahaha
