Last week, I flew to San Francisco to attend the cast party premiere screening of FALLING FOR GRACE at the Presidio Theater. This party is thrown by the amazing theater owner, Frank Lin, who offers to screen Fay's film at 2 of his theaters after he read an article of how much Fay is pushing her film and finding screeners. The article told the story about Fay taking 8 years to have this project done. When the film screened at Kabuki Sunset, she was passing out fortune cookies outside to encourage people to come. Hence Frank Lin decided to throw a premiere party for the cast on Aug 23 at his Presidio Theater and screened "Falling for Grace" at his Four Star Theater in S.F. Needless to say, I had to go to lend my support to my on screen daughter, Grace (filmmaker, Fay Ann Lee). My whirlwind trip consisted of 2 evenings and 3 days. I attended the premiere party, also visited with my 4 amazing childhood Maryknoll buddies and their extended families. They all came to the premiere screening at the Presidio. I also got to visit my brother, Ronnie, his wife Cathy, and see their new home in Leland Way in Oakland for the first time. To top it off, I drove, for the very first time, by myself to SF from Oakland to the Preisdio Theater, to the after party downtown, then back to Oakland. I got to see the Bay bridge at night and took the Bart during this trip. This may sound like nothing to those who are frequent long distant drivers, and who are very familiar with SF. But for me, I felt like I've done the Olympics...Hence there will be more trips to SF in the future, to visit family and friends. Now I feel like an old timer to S.F. and had gained moocho confidence. On another note, for those who live in SF, please go to see "Falling For Grace " at the Four Star Theater. We need every bit of your support. Thanks and more later...
