Back from Beijing

Hi,Had a really good trip up at Beijing.  The last time I was there was 2 years ago and I can tell you I can hardly recognize any of the places.  The developments are going so fast, and I suppose the Olympics have played a big part as well. What really impressed me was the arts compound "798".  I have seen nothing like this.  What was used to be a manufacturing plant has turned into an amalgamation of different arts gallery.  You will also find other random stuff there for e.g. on the day that I was there, there was a street basketball match and there was also a music concert that started in the mid afternoon.  I was also told that there is a clubbing venue within the same spot and it has become quite a trendy place to hang out in.Back to songwriting, as usual, I was like a sponge.  Going around different places, (naturally), I became more curious about my ability to express in Mandarin.  I have written 2 mandarin songs up to now but I've never considered writing with the 2 languages in mind. It's at the early stages, but I already have 3 concepts that I'm going to play around with.  These songs are semi autobiographical and I think these will be quite emotional pieces.  Tentatively one will be called "Running away from home" and there's this one called "Late Love" and the 3rd other "Chasing Dreams" (no the latter is not about the Olympics!)Will see if I can dig some photos up from the trip.
