Yapping

It does feel like awhile now since I last yapped here.

So proper gig this coming Saturday and also my birthday.  What can I say, things are just going well and I'm really appreciative of the opportunity that has been given to me.  And of course I want to give thanks to my band - The Repatriates.

Playing the guitar used to be something that I just do in my bedroom (I remember starting with just a classical guitar that was given to me by my uncle) and from there just practicing and performing for myself.  I was like geez man, I can't do Eddie Van Halen stuff with this so goes the begging Mom tactic and I begged her to upgrade me to Electric.  My first electric was this budget Gibson that looks like a strat (yeah I know..spells desperate)

Never could I imagine that I can now perform for other people.  Before this (with the odd musical performance in school or wedding), it has always been something that I day dream about.  I'm grateful. I really am.

Now on a bad day, I can always go: "well it's not really my day job", but I really ought to thank my day time employer for paying me because afterall, it is this source of income that help me buy my gear / go to gigs / feed myself etc.

I really do want to play, I want to improve and I want to play for other people.
