Jeremy and I had the best time at the opening of Finishing the Game in New York City. The best. We got to meet everybody—Justin, Sung, Roger, McCaleb, Meredith, Monique, Julie Asato the producer, Jack Song the publicist, Candy the set designer…everyone welcomed us with open arms, literally. And when I say “meet,” I don’t mean just saying “Hi”—I mean they all took the time to talk with us. And I saw them giving nineteen-year-old college students the same care and attention. Roger even recognized us from the stage during a Q&A session after the screening because we’d driven 13 hours from Cincinnati to support the movie. But Roger, it was our pleasure to do so! What a tremendous show of humanity. This is why I love independent film. We wouldn’t have missed this for the world!
It was also a wonderful chance for Jeremy and I to have a little time to connect. Circumstances have prevented us from traveling anywhere this year. I was amazed at how much a four-day trip—even one where I was “working” some of the time—rejuvenated me. Look in my photos for pictures from the event. Please check my profile in a couple of days for the link to my article on Finishing the Game. Thank you, FTG family, for your kindness to us. And don’t forget to check with your cable provider for FTG on Movies on Demand!
