As the balloting progressed, with each name called out that wasn't Avryl's, the probability nose-dived:

17/23 - 73.9%

16/22 - 72.7%

15/21 - 71.4%

14/20 - 70.0%

13/19 - 68.4%

12/18 - 66.7%

11/17 - 64.7%

10/16 - 62.5%

At this point, they were picking out the names quicker than the names got written on the whiteboard but i was still pretty unfazed...i mean there's still 9 more to go...

...the balloting paused for a quick announcement to the parents whose daughters eventually don't get a place for 2009: "...may wanna try **** school which still has vacancies...." Meanwhile, i could feel my heart beginning to thump against the inside of my ribs.....
