This is for a program on National Geographics.
The story is about how in some part of Thailand, the villagers believe there's a 'widow spirit' who is the cause of unexplained deaths of young men in their villages. The elders of the village believes that if the young men dress up as women, that'll fool the 'widow spirit'.
So with just 3 hours of sleep after the HSBC shoot, I set off for Changi Ferry Terminal to take a 12min bum boat ride to Pulau Ubin. ( Pulau means island in Malay )

Once all the equipment got loaded up, it was a short 10min drive into the interior of the island.
We shot at this old lady's home:
This newspaper article is dtd year 2000. She's now 81 years old and had been living on the island all her life.
While waiting for things to get set up, I listened to her talk about her children and grandchildren living in mainland Singapore, how she makes a living on Pulau Ubin by renting out rooms to tourists and mainlanders who come out here to experience abit of rural living.
So...what did I look like dressed as a girl?
Not very convincing huh? It's probably for the best...I'd rather stick to roles of my own gender anyway :P
