...have seen me treading on new territory - Mandarin theatre.
We'll be performing 5 shows over 4 days, between 30Jul -2Aug. The play is a 45-minute piece written by a first-time playwright, centering on the relationships of 3 people; a female reporter, a teacher, and a lawyer.
Here are some scans of yesterday's newspaper article :
The article is more about the 3 new playwrights and ours (circled in blue) is the youngest amongst them at 22.
btw, did you notice something in the first picture?
here, have another look
see? ;)
Anyways, it's not quite so serious during our ongoing rehearsals
how? look like father & daughter anot? 23 year old Ren LiangYi plays the reporter Shi En. She graduated last year from NAFA, majoring in theatre studies i think...
Liu XiaoYi, 27, an exeperienced theatre performer, plays the teacher Kai Wei...
Jean ( in specs) and Margaret, our satge manager (SM) and ASM respectively...
...which leaves me, the 'newbie', playing the lawyer Yu Wen.
And she's not really playing my daughter....we play husband and wife actually :P
Here's something else i don't get to do very often, still photography shoot:
This was actually shot in January. i only received the soft copy recently.
NO, not gonna make you guess....2nd from the top, 8th from the right. :)
Lastly, National Day is coming soon and so is the Hungry Ghost Festival. There's actually no apparent connection between that and what i'm about to say.....but if you're in Singapore, do take this opportunity to go catch this:
