there have been times when I felt like starting some kind of actors' organization, a coalition, mainly to address the problem of fee stagnation. To begin with, each member would have to be committed to long-term sustainability, and I mean really really committed as opposed to "acting is my passion, not my bread & butter." I mean, if it isn't,where then would one find the conviction to stand firm? It has been that general lack of conviction which has facilitated the stagnation, and indeed regression, over the past decade and more...but as I look around me, I'm not hopeful that such a coalition would garner a strong membership and that, is the saddest part of all....
