At the beginning of each new year, I look back and am always amazed at how many projects I've worked on. Here's just a recap of some of the projects I did in the 2nd half of 2010.
Project 420 - Webseries
This project was fun because I had to work in multiple genres. We had to have stereotypical psychedelic stoner rock from the 60's of course, though it was updated to make it a bit more modern. Then there was Indian sitar and tabla tracks and even old timey big top circus music.I arranged a cover of “Champagne Supernova” sung by
Cynthia Lin. Even though the track didn't make it to the final edit, you can listen to it here. I recorded the percussion and acoustic guitar parts myself with the help of Eugene Huang on guitar solos. He rocks so check out his music here. Watch the series at
project420.tv Deborah S. Craig
Deborah is my songwriting partner and a triple threat: singer/songwriter/comedic actress. She is probably best known as Marcy Park in the original Broadway cast of the Tony Award winning “The Twenty-Fifth Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”.We worked together on several hilarious shorts for Funny or Die and for yomyomf.com's Interpretations contest.Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6odqYW1XLKwVideo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW5qx9sGUjg“ 1-555-LIVE-LYNX” a faux sex line commercial gone wrong and “ Yoga for Black People”, which went Immortal on Funny or Die in just a couple of days. “White Out” was her entry to the Interpretations contest, which you can watchhere. For more funny, check out her post onhttp://youoffendmeyouoffendmyfamily.com/interpretations-and-then-there-was-‘misinterpretations (scroll down to White Out).More Interpretations Contest
I provided music for several other short films submitted to the contest. The creators of the contest, the YOMYOMF team says it in their own words, “Interpretations is a short film initiative to encourage aspiring filmmakers to develop their own original and unique voice. All participants will create a short film using the same original script. The point of this exercise will be to encourage filmmakers to find their own take on the material and to be as creative with it as they can.” Check out the films:Infertile Affairs (Dir. by Huy Chheng) http://interpretationsfilm.com/members/monktree/

Epic “Hostage”
Filmmaker Eric Won created a short for the Sprint Epic contest. Unfortunately due to badly written and confusing contest entry rules, his work was disqualified for using original music. Boo. But, the short is awesome and you can watch ithere. Yeah!
