Today I was a judge at a bandshow. It was in Stanley and today was a beautiful day. I'm always interested in what the new generation of musicians are into and what they're thinking musically. The music was kinda craze, there were alot of nice looking 'axes' though.
This building is actually pretty nice. Welcome to Stanley.
The first half of the show were cover bands. Each had 10minutes to set up and perform.Really raw, the bands had to adjust all their amps and sound themselves. Yo, peeps have to pay their dues...haha
All girl band, rockin' a sweet song by Avril.
That's me, eating all the snacks while judging. I wanted to be direct like Simon Cowell, but ended up feeling like Paula...oh well
Then, half hour break. Walked about. A beautiful day.
Sat on the the stoop. Called my lil'bro cause it was his B-day. Happy B-day GHC
Guitar-Gods in the building!! This group 'shreds!!' It was crazy. Lots of fancy guitars and rock posturing--nice! The second half were all original compositions.
Music ranged from j-rock, alternative, metal, funky-monkey music and more.
Headbanger's Ball...
Back-to-Back
Everyone wants to play guitar
and sing too
Drop the beat
After the show, who did I run into? Fellow 'Revolutionary' Master Ken!! It was good to bump into him and we chilled at his Windsurfing spot.
that's me
The longest dragon boat ever. Something like 50 people?
Ended my Stanley day with a cheese burger. Dope, but feelin' oily inside--once in a while ok.Good to see some music today. But, my question is how do musicians in HK make a living?Right, have a great week! Shout-out to all the bands--respect! You're the future!
