Yves Saint Laurent X Bruce Webber FW2010 Homme

YVES SAINT LAURENT DEBUTS A BRUCE WEBER FILM AT THE PRESENTATION OF STEFANO PILATI’S COLLECTION HOMME AUTOMNE/HIVER 2010-2011

Paris, France – January 20, 2010. Yves Saint Laurent is pleased to announce that American photographer and filmmaker Bruce Weber has made a short film that will make its worldwide debut on the occasion of the presentation of Yves Saint Laurent Creative Director Stefano Pilati’s Collection Homme Automne/Hiver 2010-2011 on Friday, January 22, 2010 in Paris. The presentation will include an installation of the film – titled ‘Ain’t Nothin’ Like the Real Thing’ – and a fashion show of the collection. With this, Stefano Pilati forwards his commitment to film as a medium for a multi-dimensional presentation of men’s fashion. Continuing a tradition now in its fifth season, where an artist is given carte blanche to create a film project that is shown with the men’s collection, this latest initiative underlines Pilati’s belief that true creative production requires freedom and diverse points of departure. A trailer featuring a behind-the-scenes tour of the Bruce Weber film and exclusive backstage images from the preparation of Stefano Pilati’s fashion show will debut on Facebook ® and Youtube ® at 1230pm local time on Friday, at the same moment the fashion show begins live. ‘Ain’t Nothin’ Like the Real Thing’ and the Yves Saint Laurent fashion show video will be posted simultaneously on ysl.com, Facebook ® and Youtube ® that same afternoon at 4pm local time.Quotation:"I first met Stefano a few years ago in New York City and we talked about doing something together. Those late night conversations usually end up nowhere, but then one day I received that call from Stefano and he asked me to make a film for his show for the Men’s Collection. It was around Christmastime and I thought of the proposition as a Christmas present from Stefano and YSL. So few designers these days have trust in the creative process and that’s why I wanted to be a part of Stefano’s world. "
