[FINALE] March Update

Yesterday, on March 22nd 2009 there was the Fantasy Filmfest Night over here in Cologne, Germany. It featured Korean film The Good, the Bad, the Weird. Jung Doo-Hong, FINALE's action director, was also the action director for this film and so we had to go and see it. Once again it is a Jung Doo-Hong-film that proves that camera angles and editing are a crucial matter when it comes to the creation of an action scene. It is a relief to have Jung Doo-Hong handle the action for FINALE, because he understands how to make an action scene as breathtaking as we see them in films such as The Good, the Bad, the Weird. I can't wait to see Doo-Hong choreograph the fights and the action with our actors. Seeing what camera angles he will talk about with Kai, the Director of Photography (DoP), will surely be thrilling.

So what's new with FINALE? The film was featured in two major movie magazines. The latest issue of DEADLINE, a German movie magazine, was released this month and it features a two-page article conducted by me along with pictures of our latest teaser-shoot in December 2008.

FINALE was also featured in the March issue of UK action movie magazine IMPACT. The article was written by Mike Leeder. They also included some pictures including a big picture of Seul-Ki.

Speaking of Seul-Ki, she is in Seoul preparing for the film. She does weight lifting and physical training twice a week in order to be capable of performing Jung Doo-Hong's demanding action choreography. As if this wasn't enough already she is taking English lessons twice a week in order to communicate more directly with the non-Korean members of the cast and crew while filming. This is how dedicated she is.

Another dedicated cast member is Lorenzo Renzi from Italy who will play ex-boxer Vincent. He does weight lifting every single day and he recently called us telling us that his current weight is 103 kg (all muscles!!!). Can you imagine how that fight scene between him and the petite Si-Yeon will turn out? The process of choreographing this particular fight scene should be really interesting for Jung Doo-Hong.

The Si-Yeon-teaser should finish editing, color correction and special effects by the end of March. Then we will send it to our musical composer Jo Yeong-Wook in Korea. He just finished working on the music of Park Chan-Wook's latest movie called Thirst and he is ready to start composing the FINALE movie theme. We can't wait to hear it and we are looking forward to presenting his work to you.

Over here in Germany we are in various steps of preparations. A lot of work is put into assembling the rest of the cast. We are currently in talks with actors from Hollywood, UK and France. There are some nice surprises to be unveiled soon. One of them will be for the FINALE fans in Korea as the website’s Korean language version will be online during the next week.

In the meantime you should watch The Good, the Bad, the Weird as the latest example of Jung Doo-Hong’s work. And when you’re done with that you should check out the magazines FINALE was featured in. You can order your copy of the March issues of both magazines here:
