PRESIDENT TRUMP, THE BANNING OF IMMIGRANTS AND THE WALL: The View of an average guy from Germany:

It's nice to see everybody speak up against Trump's immigration ban of people from seven countries. However, I wonder if that is because of love for immigrants or because of hate for Trump. It seems a US president has to tweet about his outrageous decisions, before everybody will speak up against them. Obama banned Iraqis from entering the US for 6 months back in 2011 and I don't remember people being disgusted by that. Yes, it didn't include those holding a green card, but still, Obama didn't tweet about it, so it's like it never happened. Obama spent every single day of his presidency killing innocent people in Muslim countries, but shame on Trump for banning these people from entering the US. I don't get it.

And the wall? There is no way Mexico will ever pay 20 billion Dollars for this wall. I remember my newsfeed being flooded with memes that read sentences like: "How come there is money for refugees, but no money for homeless veterans?" The same people should now be posting: "How come there is 20 billion for a wall, but no money for homeless veterans?"

Do I like Trump? Hell no. His view on torture, his locker-room talk (I've never heard such talk in any locker-room ever) and foreigners makes me sick. However, Trump didn't bring racism to the US. He is just taking advantage of it having always been there. The fact that he got elected shows that racism has never been fully treated, but merely suppressed. Yes, there is racism in many countries of this world. In Germany we face a similar dilemma. A right-wing party made it pretty far, because racism has always been suppressed, but never treated.

In conclusion, I'd say it's good that people are speaking out about a president's outrageous decisions, but may they do so in the future, even if he doesn't tweet about it or it being covered by the opposing media.
