The Warlords, Meeting with Andy Lau

Last night was awesome.  It was a night that Blogs were made for.

So I was invited to attend the opening ceremony for the Warlords.  The new film starring Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro.

I went with Chen Kun Tai, who is famous for hundreds of old Shaw Brothers films. This film was a remake of the original which he stared in along side Di long and David Chang. called Blood Brothers.

I was amazed when they invited me to walk the red carpet too. it was Such an Honor!!!

They had huge festivities planned, they really put on a good show for premieres in china.  it is like hollywood in the 30's.  big dance routines and a great show.

they had some martial arts demonstrations, it was really great.

But the High light for me was back stage.   I was sitting with Chen Kun tai and chatting about a film we are planing, when Chen Kun tai got up to go talk to some old friends of his. 

Then Andy Lau came in.  wow this guy is amazing, he doesn't wear makeup and he has better skin that most 20 year old.  Anyway, he was there saying high to everyone, and then suddenly He is looking right at me.  then he smiled and waved.  I thought there must be somone behind me, so I looked behind me and there was nobody there.  Then Andy Lau walks over to me and shakes my hand.  I was realy wondering what was going on at this point.  And he says to me " I saw your film"

 Wow.   Andy Lau walked up to me, nobody Foreign guy in a room full of stars and says "I saw your Movie"    My heart skipped a beat.  I couldn't think of anything to say,  so the stupidest thing just popped out of my mouth.  "I saw your movies too"  Suddenly my face went red, and I I could stop time I would have just to slap myself. 

   But he laughed,    so that helped a little,  then I asked him what he thought of it. he said "非常ok“ "Very OK"!!    This put me in the clouds ,  Man what a great feeling to have my work praised by such a high master in our realm of film , it was an indescribable honor.   It meant so much to hear that, and gives so much energy and incentive to do more and work harder.

My only regret is that I have no pictures.

I am going to have to start bring a camera to these events, it's all new to me now.

It was sch a shock to have a great day like that.  But after the festivities of the premiere, I was hoping we would get to see the film itself, oh well, guess I am going to have to buy my ticket for that.
