Yesterday I was lucky to meet one of the photographers who is part of this mobile photographers collective, Mobile Photo Group. Anton Kawasaki is a NYC based mobile photographer and is well known for his talks at the SoHo Apple Store here in the city. Anton's work has been featured in magazines (both online and print) and in various exhibitions (New York, Berlin, and soon San Francisco), and he has gained over 40,000 followers on the photo-sharing app Instagram.
Mobile Photo Group is an international collective of mobile photographers dedicated to promoting their work and presenting mobile photography as an important and evolving form of photography. Mobile Photo Group (MPG) was founded by photographers who set out to capture compelling images, only their mobile devices -- it's 12 founding members include: Misho Baranovic, Chun Tong Chung, Jim Darling, Sion Fullana, Benedicte Guillon, Dominique Jost, Anton Kawasaki, Oliver Lang, Morgan Miranda, Jordi V. Pou, Star Rush, and Greg Schmigel.Take time to click and look at their work, I follow most of these artists on Instagram and am inspired by what they do. So, great moment to able to sit with Anton and talk about his work and the direction of iPhoneography.
