been busy for the past couple of days with production. it's been almost a year since we started working on this documentary and it's starting to feel like it.
(this blog will be a short one with a lots of pictures. will try to write more later.)
the other day we ate at the "Whistle Stop Cafe" where the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" was shot. i haven't seen the film, so it wasn't a familiar site for me. the restaurant is located in a cozy town called Juliette.
here is the exterior of the joint.
the tracks are next to the restaurant, so you can hear the train go by while you eat. i like that.
maybe some of you who have seen the film recognize the interior?
for drinks, i ordered sweet tea (why not?). i love it when they give you drinks in those jars.
as for the starters, we ordered fried green tomatoes (of course).
for the main course i ordered the fried steak (HUGE!) with baked apples (not bad), zip peas (very bland), and a biscuit (yummy).
ready to eat this beast!
i only finished half of the food. remember, i am watching what i am eating! (yeah right).
then dessert! the very yummy peach cobbler.
afterwards we looked around the antique shops and got us some literature for 50 cents each.
that day we wrapped past midnight and we needed to eat something. thank you Steak n' Shake for being a 24 hour joint.
i got the 5-way, a Steak n' Shake specialty, which is chili and cheese on top of spaghetti noodles! outstanding dish, i must say.
thank you for reading. i will try to write a more detailed entry soon.
have a great day. or have a blessed day (like they say here in Georgia).
sincerely,
Jae-Ho
