One Night in JB!

Spent the monday evening in Malaysia, Johor Bahru with Quinn and James. Pretty interesting experience. Its not like the first time i've been to JB, maybe 4 times? But each time its either with parents, school field trip, or simply just passed by. but its my first exploring trip with friends who equally knows nothing about getting around.

First stop when we arrived, we went on for Kambing Soup (mutton soup) at some backalley food store. I'm starting to wonder, does every single roadside foodstore tastes equally good? Even the drinks tastes better!

Next up, shopping for DVDs and cheap clothings, I didn't spend at all totally. I'm there on a foodhunt. Thats why when we arrived the night market area, i practically tried every single thing to the point i'd almost puked.

We wrapped up the night with a drink at some club before heading back to singapore around 5am.

Sorry didn't take much pictures except the streets and some cobras found outside a restaurant!

But i guess quinn is gonna post more up soon.

Anyway, been missing quite abit. Doing lots of shoots including a theateric styled short film titled 'Earth', and first Focus Music Short film production 'Subsequence'.

Subsequence is an experimental short film proposed by Feihui Laoshi himself. Don't remember since when did he started saying that he wanna do a short film himself, but finally it came true this month. I wasn't exactly a cast in it, instead, more like production assistant. In fact, laoshi, and a group of 5 of us, his students, worked together rotating between crew and cast to complete the shoot. Laoshi is basically the director, producer, DP and AD at the same time. Whereas i'm mainly the grip, soundman and AP, of course roles can be rotated among us anytime. It was a tiring 5 days shoot but somehow upon completion, I felt a huge sense of satisfaction. Really looking forward to the final cut of it after laoshi is done with editting.

first attempt trying to mix colourings into fake blood for the shoot. fun!

'Earth' wise is a theatre production in a studio. Can't really disclose too much of information but basically the idea of the film is to make an artificial slump with 50 dead bodies lying around, together with rubbish, unwanted furnitures/household appliances, dead fish and all sorts of rubbish. It will be released during the Singapore Arts Festival for screenings. More detils will be out soon!

The 'Slump', and me as a deadbody lying on the slump.

Took a couple of interesting pictures at some interesting places. Here to share.

These gear spiders are all over the place in a pub where i shot a training video for Canon! looks like some bio-hazard weapon or spider-man's new friends.

I like this Jesus Christ Figurine.

Lastly, I've been called up for mobilization by the army this month. Spent one night at the army camp doing nothing but just catching up with some old frends in army. Secretly took some pictures.

On my way out from home

Its always great to see army buddies!

Wrapping up this blog with my latest haircut! Enjoy the week ahead and smile~
