French curator extraodinaire, Barnabe Mons, just sent me a calvacade of photos from the recent exhibition at the Musée International Des Arts Modestes (MIAM) in Sete, France. The group show is called "Kitsch Catch" and I am in the company of artists such as Charles Burns, Daniel Johnston, Pit, and my super cool buddies Charles Glaubitz and Doc Atomic. Its been getting a lot of good press in France and if you find yourself in that part of the world, then mosey on over to the MIAM because the show ends in May. For now, here are some pictures to give you a taste of the glory on board the gravy train.
Cool beans! My name is in the bottom right hand corner of this billboard.Wrasslin' at the openingAnd here we have some flicks of the exhibition.I was in Lille, France last year for the opening of "Kitsch Catch" at the Maison Folie Wazemmes. I didn't get a chance to share photos of it in this blog, so I figured that its better late than never.
It was a packed house and it spilled all the way into the streets! Close to a thousand people came through for some art, wrestling, and musicOf course, wrestling is always a part of the menu.Even wrestling in caveman outfits with giant inflatable luchadores! AWESOMECan't forget about the ROCK showAll in all, shows in France are on a different level of sweetness! I can't wait to bring some of this action to my adopted home of steamed dumplings and kung fu chops! Before I go, let me leave you with a little picture of the adventures of Pink Amigo in Hong Kong.In this picture we have Dan of alivenotdead, Jefford, Eugene, and Jason of the Hypebeast crew. Also, we can't forget about the guy holding the camera, who was Mike West of 686.Till next time, remember that Kix is kid tested and mother approved.
