So finally I am getting out from under some writing and business. Luckily I was invited to a fabulous performance of Jekyll & Hyde The Musical at the Cabrilo Music Theatre in Thousand Oaks, California. What a fantastic performance. All the performers did a great job as well as the orchestra but I must mention the lead performers, Robert Townsend as Jekyll/Hyde, Lulu Lloyd as Lucy and Beth Obregon as Emma. But I cannot begin to tell you what an amazing performance Robert Townsend did in the lead role. This is the last weekend but if you get a chance to go, do so. Brilliant, just brilliant.
And tonight I am going to see a show called Thrill Me in Hollywood. I have heard very good things about it. I'll let you know after this evening.
Live performances are such a great experience. Of course I love film and television work but I must admit that live theatre and other live performances, actually any type of live performance is really what people need to nurture themselves. When you sit in the dark and share a performance like we did last night it reminds us that we only survive and succeed as a community, a team, a cast not by ourselves.
Go to the theater everyone. Nourish yourself.
