IDIOM 2010.

MashKulture.net recently released some good shots of the iDiom 2010 Collection that drops this coming winter. iDiom is a capsule collection that is the brain child of Burton Snowboards, Fragment Design (Japan) and yours truly, Staple Design. Hiroshi Fujiwara dictates the entire creative process. We do our best to execute on his vision. For 2010, the theme of the collection is STELS…which is his code word for “stealth”. So everything is very muted and matte. Nothing shiny or glossy. Anything reflective for safety purposes is discreet and subtle. For example, check out the all over grid patterns you see in some pieces. They are done in reflective print, so at one angle, it’s invisible. At another, BAM! Also, all interior lining colors are very bright, again to showcase the idea of stealth…hiding something. Subtle hints at military themes like D-Ring hardware, Mil-Spec labels, and silhouettes inspired from M-65s and fatigue cargo pants. I know it’s only July…but think snow! この冬にリリースされるiDiom 2010コレクションの写真が先日、 MashKulture.netで公開されました。iDiomはBurton Snowboards、Fragment Design（日本）、と僕達Staple Designが集結して作ったカプセルコレクションです。 藤原ヒロシ氏が全てのクリエーティブプロセスを指揮しています。彼のビジョンを実現するためにみんなが努力します。2010年のコレクションテーマはSTELS．．．これは「stealth（ステルス）」という言葉の彼のコードワードです。なので、全てが抑えられてマットです。光沢やツヤはありません。安全面で必要な反射部分はすべて控えめになっています。例えば、数枚に見られる格子柄をチェックしてみてください。反射するプリントなので、ある角度では目に見えなくなり、違う角度からは、パーンと現れる！また、内側の裏地はとても発色のいい色を使い、何か隠している、というステルスのアイディアに合うように選ばれています。D-Ringハードウェア、Mil-Specラベルなどの微かなミリタリーテーマとM-65やカーゴパンツなどのシルエットにもインスパイアされています。まだ、7月ですが．．． 雪を想像してください！また、この新しいコレクションについての僕のインタビューもチェックしてください。
