Editing is something that confuses me. Big time. Of course, as an actress, I hardly have any contact with the editing suite. Except when I'm cutting a new show reel.
For starters, see the thumbnail images on the left hand side? Every single thumbnail represents a video clip. In this case, either a film or a TV episode. Multiply the number of thumbnails by at least 30 minutes each. Imagine going through that much footage just for a 3 minute clip!
Oh and the incredibly draining editing process. I don't even know how to start on this one. Besides the scene selections, and their orders, the transitions are like wow (I think I usually drift off at this point ). Every single minor detail such as the fade in/out duration, whether the sound is introduced before an image, the visual rhythm versus the soundtrack, etc... makes a world of a difference to the final product.
And when you think the work is finally over , the color hue might have to be individually adjusted in order to create an overall flow.
I can't edit to save my life, but I sure appreciate the effort that editors place into their jobs. Plus I'm so glad that this is finally over!!
So please support support my work by visiting the youtube link below. I would really appreciate if it you can rate the video and/or leave me a comment.
Thank you so much!
