Baby scan 5th June 08

I didnt know that baby was already 7 mths 4 days old!!! Tot she was 6 mths, prior to that i tot she was only 5 mths :p I'm really blur. Lost count of how fast she has grown already! 7mths already. She's 1.6kg and im about 65.2kg, think weight gain since b4 pregnancy is about 7kg? Dr I said during my last visit that as long as not above 14kg weight gain im fine =) Anyway had my dreaded blood test again, this time is GTT-Glucose Tolerance Test. So at 930am they drew blood out of me, nurse gave me a cup of super sweet glucose drink with lots of sugar sediments at the bottom even after she stirred! I just avoided the sediments below, gross. Then she gave me a small cup of plain water, and told me no food nor water till 1130am. Yeps then the starting para happened while i went for my gynae scan. Here's the photo

Seems like the photo is clearer in my previous scans. But good to hear baby is alrite, at a good weight, and our previous blood tests results were all fine. Dr I said tmr if she never call me then it's good news. "No news is gd news" as quoted by the nurse who drew my blood, but she told me 1wk? Dr I said wun take so long-tmr. Asked Dr I if IPL is a no-no for me, she said yeps, cannot do laser stuff, nor do hair-rebonding. She also said i can even go to Bugis/Novena to shop ard while waiting for my next blood drawing at 1130am. She said if dun want, then can check out the ward charges.

So we went to hunt for the admission place and it's at counter 13. There were 2 mothers prior to us and i think they booked their wards alrdy. I decided we'd book the ward nearer to my EDD. Oh Mr cloudz booked urgent leave for me today =) And i decided we'd go for the B1 ward the 4 bedder instead of the most expensive A1, 1 bedder. Becoz im under the Private Suite, can only choose A1 or B1, and not the lower class wards. Soon it was 1130pm after the long wait. B4 that we checked out prices of bottles/breast pumps at the shops at the hospital and i wrote down the prices against the list my sis-in-law gave me. And guess wat? The woman at the counter was like "No point traveling all the way to Expo for the Baby Fair to compare prices". I was FUMING   1st of all, this is my VERY FIRST TIME actually looking and noting of prices of such stuff, and also 1st TIME going to a BABY FAIR which previously i wouldnt be bothered to go. OTHER MOTHERS-TO-BE, at least in my country, have DEFINITELY KNOWN ALL THE PRICES OF SUCH STUFF AND GONE FOR A NUMBER OF FAIRS ALREADY! I'M LIKE ALREADY 7 MTHS, AND ONLY DOING SUCH THINGS. WHY THE HELL AM I JUSTIFYING MYSELF FOR HER??? I told her "If you were me, you would also compare prices wat!?!?" and "I'm already not very kiasu as compared to many mothers already!!!" WATS HER PROBLEM man. Just becoz we didnt buy anything yet. I was complaining to Mr Cloudz about her while walking back to draw my blood. And told him i DUN WANT To buy from her anymore!!! If anything cheaper, he would go in and not me! Ya so there. Drew blood, bought a chicken pie which was cold from Delifrance :( Then we headed to Expo for the Baby Fair, today 1st day.

Initially i saw a lot of misc. rubbish/remotely related stalls like Investment, Insurance, and i even saw my own Music School there with 2 staff from my branch! Said hi to them. Finally got round to some gd stuff like being a member of Friso milk and hence getting a free goodie bag and a free bottle of milk powder for preggies/breastfeeding mothers. They had the cold milk sample which i tried and let Mr Cloudz try a sip. It was nice :) Vanilla flavoured too. Was happy with this best freebie of this Fair. Then we bought 1 sample of Pampers for new born which was cheaper than outside. Also bought clothes for Stariel, Very CHEAP-Ranging from only S$2-7. Asked the salesgal wats the meaning of Dulce which was one of the words on the clothes, but she didnt know. B4 tat got pulled by Prudential side (which i always dislike) and got a free dip, she told me i was very lucky as i got the most exp freebie which was a Brands supplement. Told her to email me the info and give us pamphlets to let us read ourselves. Dun wanna waste time listening to her. Got info on Rustic Nirvana too on pre/post natal massage. Small sample of Palmer's Cocoa butter to prevent stretch marks. Actually i had 2 offers of free bottle of Palmer's by my colleague and cousin, but becoz i heard horror stories of ppl having horrible itch and scars left by scratching, i rejected both of them. Dunno if i might just test a bit on my skin, see how. Also bought maternity pads $2 for 1 pkt of 10, they said buy 2 get 1 free, so bought 3 for only $4. Pretty worth it i guess. Mr Cloudz also got me Eu Yan Seng Bird's Nest which was discounted slightly. More or less we were done. I dragged Mr Cloudz to the next door's exhibition of 90% discount on branded items. It was mainly stuff from John Little-apparels, make up, food stuff etc. Didnt buy anything from there. Tho was tempted a few times...Mr Cloudz wanted to put all the stuff back into the car.

Next and last stop: Vivocity at Harbourfront. We actually saved our stomachs for late lunch till we reached there. Dunno wat to eat, just tried out this place called White Dog's Cafe. Set lunch was $10++ sounds very cheap. But becoz we topped up lobster bisque, tea to smoothie, dessert to cake and ice-cream, total bill came up to $45.45. Portion of food was pretty small but surprisingly filling. However i think NYDC's foods, cakes and ice-cream are nicer. Shopped ard here and there for misc stuff. Mr Cloudz was tired so we went home finally at 530pm at rush hour. I fell asleep in the car during a jam on the expressway.

Tats the end of my long day. Hope tmr's results would be fine. No news is gd news.
