Yesterday was surfing desperately online for good restaurants, since the past few occasions (numerous August birthdays we were Over Feasting).
Well in the end, we still did...
Saw this place Gunther's online, also recommended by my ex-colleague/online buddy. It's a french restaurant. I think we over ordered....the portions came up to be much bigger than normal, unlike the usual miniscule fine dining portions in degustation menus...
Service was very good. Ambience was minimalist but classy. It was almost full house!! Anyway spent like the most expensive dinner ever there...like $300 blow on my wallet heh, then plus presents somemore.
The food was pretty good, but yes due to over ordering, when come to the main courses, we couldnt finish....was like marginal utility dropped.
Points to take note of: The "still water" or plain water costs $9 before GST and Service Charge ok!!!!!! The most expensive plain water ever drunk. The rest not so bad la. And guess wat??? Mastercard has promotion, so in the end the Rose champagne u see here is FREE....and the tiramisu not on the menu, but specially prepared for his birthday was also FREE. Ironic isnt it?
Anyway, tho it's really expensive...for my wonderful husband, im willing to do tat.
Lobster salad
Quite a big piece of Foie Gras
Seafood tomato clear broth
Duck breast
Huge piece of Ribeye steak, looks smaller due to camera angle
Tiramisu not in menu, specially prepared & with compliments
