Lunch & Trip to the new Terminal 3

Today (Wed), my afternoon student pushed lesson earlier to yest, hence im free till this evening with 2 students. Initially suggested having lunch at the new Terminal 3 airport with dad, but he suggested having Fish Head Curry for lunch at Samy's restaurant located at Katong Village which is very near my church. Since my mum agreed, so i followed, should be nice. For once i didnt have to drive, since my dad drove. Reached Katong Village, there was the Japanese Waraku restaurant which is overcrowded at nite, the Hong Kong Tea house, and a Brazilian meats restaurant which looks interesting (haven't tried). Then Samy's, We were greeted by Indian waiters, went in and they put banana leaves on our table with cutlery and wet towels. My dad ordered a medium sized fish head curry which was HUGE, 3 plain Naans, and 1 garlic naan. I liked the garlic naan. Also had my favourite crispy Papadom to eat with the curry gravy. We also ordered a tandoori chicken, and 3 very refreshing lime juices. The curry gravy was Piping Hot and just nice the spiciness, had a smacking time , and couldnt finish all the naans. And the lime juice was so refreshing and nice after the piping hot curry with naan lunch...Tot of taking away the butter chicken which we ordered, but they missed out the order :( sad. At least have 1 cheese naan (ordered 2 actually) took away with the remaining curry gravy which we couldnt finish, and my dad topped up with 2 fish curry (meat instead of the head).

After lunch, told my dad to drop us off at any bus stop along the road for my mum and i to take bus 36 which goes straight to the airport via the East Coast Parkway (ECP expressway). About 20 mins ride to the sprucing new T3. Got off, and the basement itself has a number of shops like Crystal Jade bread shop, NTUC fairprice supermarket, Genki Sushi, Mrs Field's cookies, a large food court, and Popeye's chicken. We went to Candy Empire to look at sweets/chocolates/biscuits/snacks. Mum bought chocolates weighed by 100 grams, i bought 1 Arnott's dark chocolate biscuit with marshmallow, and 1 normal chocolate Tim Tams, since i have heard that Tim Tam was good...Went to the food court, mummy wanted to try the fruit yoghurt freeze initially she wanted kiwi flavour, but i tot it may be a bit sourish, so advised her to choose either mango or strawberry flavours which should be nicer. So she ordered a strawberry one, plus we shared fruits slices papaya and honeydew. They had 'sofa' backing-like seats at the food court, so we relaxed there and ate our snacks after our very full lunch. Ate a bit of chocolates with the fruits and yoghurt drink->which tasted sweeter than i tot. My mum liked it a lot. She said she can even sleep there alrdy...i told her we can rest for awhile then go up to explore the rest of the airport. After the chocolate and fruit snacking, we were so full again, walked up the escalator to the departure hall at level 1, which had an empty cafe can't remember, think named Tosco or something. The man gave us a Free Coffee voucher which worthed S$6.80 valid only for today. But both of us were too full to be interested in coffee (and im not really a coffee person). Took a lift up to Level 2, saw the Arrival hall, huge, nice and new with the glass panels. There's a Coffee Bean which has very gd biz as compared to the previous cafe we saw earlier on. Took the escalator up to level 3/4 which had more restaurants and the viewing gallery. Saw Body Shop, Chomel, Sakae Teppanyaki, Crystal Jade restaurant, Dian Xiao Er restaurant, some Jap accessories shop; went up to level 4. There was a Brewerks micro brewery cum restaurant inside for those taking flights. On level 4 was Earle's Swensen's and the viewing gallery. Which was slightly disappointing as it was small and unlike b4, the glass directly in front is not the last glass that separates from the outside from the inside, there was a huge gap. Not much variety of planes too, only SIA, and a small grey plane. Many old folks were seated there viewing/resting. Too full for Swensen's ice-cream, we just walked past it, and went down the escalator by the other side. Saw more shops like Harris bookstore at the corner of the Arrival hall, and the Chocolate Factory, another choco/sweets shop and Bengawan Solo (local cake shop). We took a lift directly to the bus terminal at the basement.

Bought pasta sauce on offer, my favourite Berri grape juice (1 litre) and 3 kinder bueno packs on offer at NTUC fairprice, while my mum bought another drink-mango yoghurt this time (told u she really liked it) from the foodcourt again. Checked out Popeye's chicken to take-away for dinner, like ala-carte 2 piece chicken or a chicken burger. But saw the menu displayed were only like sets that comes with their biscuit which i didnt really fancy, and fries with chicken strips for $6.20. Enquired about the ala-carte foods, 2 pc chicken cost $5.20 and the chicken burger alone cost $5. That's not very worth it. So didnt buy those in the end, hence bought groceries instead.

While walking towards the bus terminal i was asking my mum who to give the free coffee voucher to, she suggested those ppl mending at the shops. Then she saw a lady, i said im eyeing on the poorer ppl. Then we saw a cleaner lady, so decided to give her, b4 tat i was muttering if she's from China...and right after we spoke to her and looked at her name tag, confirmed she IS from China. Well, she looked pitiful in a way, and she was like cleaning the floor diligently, so decided to pass the voucher to her. Told her it's only valid for today. Hope she enjoyed the coffee. Initially i was thinking of giving to the poor Malay folks. Well well. She's in luck then today :p waited for sometime for 36 and it drove to T1, T2 (stopped and changed driver) then reached home at 5pm. Slept in the bus.

Mm...45 mins to my next student, guess i'd bathe 1st...still full tho, maybe would eat after 2nd student at 930pm? Hope i wun be hungry by then. Tata~
