Mm dunno why i chose orange instead of my usual fav blues or purple fonts. Orange reminds me of Jane Chu heh. But yes, orange is a symbol of activity, so i guess 2010 should be activity filled...at least for me. Why?

Coz im having a Golden Tiger baby coming up in March! Mr Cloudz just read on newspaper on some Fengshui stuff that it's rare to have the element Gold for Tiger and this is a rare and good year to have babies. The Golden Tiger baby, unlike normal Chinese thinking, will not "Ke" (harm) the parents. Mm come to think of it, this matches the orange colour which is like gold. Anyhow, most imptly, i pray for a safe delivery and a healthy baby again :) (Prayers welcomed heh)

Okie, summarizing, just some random stuff i did on 31/12/09

1) Dad in law brought us out for buffet lunch at the neighbourhood grassroot community club. However, to me it isnt really a buffet anymore, since they only allow 1 time ordering of dishes for ALL dishes!!! Wat kind of buffet is tat?? Tho u should be pretty full after ordering almost all on the list...well well, their way of cutting costs. But most imptly, we Were Full. Just can't order a particular dish again if we liked it...

2) Went to Orchard Ion with Mr Cloudz, was hunting for the new cafe shop, and we found it, but Mr Cloudz said it wasnt the one, that there was another one...so we kinda went in circles...in the end i just gave up and asked the gal at the cafe besides Coffee Bean, Starbucks and this Dr Cafe, are there any others? She said No...and i love to sit down and rest (esp when im carrying a heavy load on my tummy), so i decided to settle for this Dr Cafe thingee...Just nice they also gave us a voucher-Any free drink with any cake purchased. Cool. Mr Cloudz ordered a blackforest cake (not my choice tho), and my choice of drink was an interesting cookie decaf frappe , which i pretty much like-can really taste the liquid aroma of the cookie!

3) Before tat, i went up to Marmalade Pantry

to try their cupcakes since one of my gfs said they were good and she's not a cupcake person.Despite it looking empty, it's FULLY BOOKED. But good also, coz i took away 2 cupcakes- Strawberry Cream and William (pear vanilla icing with chocolate thingee). No photos tho, forgot my camera...but they look quite delectable.

Window shopped at the new LV store (which i think Taka's has nicer stuff), and polished my blings while ogling at some :p

4) Finally went to Oriental hotel to catch my jazz teacher performing at the Axis Bar & Lounge with this singer whom i have yet to google-Melissa Tham. Surprisingly, despite being local, she sounds like CD quality of seasoned overseas jazz singer. In fact, her voice quality kinda reminds me of Stacey Kent (one of my all time fav jazz singers). I was telling Mr Cloudz, "Some ppl are just BORN WITH IT" Im so envious of that kind of voice quality...born to sing jazz. Sigh....and i dunno, i think singing is easier than playing the piano...in a way...And her voice is so nice that it overshadows the accompanying piano (my tchr) and the double bass. BUT they were VERY GOOD as well!!! Ops didnt bring my camera to shoot them.

Oh yeah, the bar was full house and empty as like above and the cover charge was like $58 per person excluding drinks...crazy. Normally just order a $13 drink will do...Coz yest was New Year's Eve.

5) So we went to the opposite bar, Morton's Bar, which we both liked coz...there's no ridiculous cover charges, the food was good (they serve from the below Morton's Steakhouse). Ordered crab cakes (this was really pricey for 3 miniature cakes), and a very worth it beef burger which we shared; and a mocktail called Rosemary (since im not supposed to take alcohol now). Think i took some photos on my phone, but it was dark and the flash on it doesnt look good. But the food was good! Tho i had to walk over to properly hear my tchr play....sigh. At the end of it at least we managed to find a seat near the Axis bar to properly hear them.

They rounded off with the last song b4 i left which i liked called Night & Day

And the funny thing was, i wanted to ask the bar to give me balloons for Stariel (who is excited when she sees them), and i didnt have to embarrass myself to ask them (i mean why does a pregnant woman want a balloon for right??), coz 2 black balloons , one after another dropped down nearby us as if they were beckoning me to grab them! Seems like my wish/prayers were answered amazingly...
