Yesterday night was deciding between Shinjuku and Knowing. But someone said Knowing wasnt tat good, tho im still curious to watch it. So decide to support Shinjuku since im on this site heh.
Not bad, some parts are quite violent/realistic, showing the yakuza triads in Japan. Jackie Chan and Dan Wu are illegal chinese immigrants who came to seek a better life; trying to survive or survive better with some illegal means. Initially they started out with lousy jobs like clearing the sewers, segregating rubbish based on materials, then they decided to go for the moolah by stealing, selling fake phonecards, using bogus credit cards, rigging a machine etc...Dan Wu (Ah Jie) however is supposed to act as a coward in the show, and he did his chestnuts selling, however he was very unlucky twice. 1st time: toking to a gal whose dad was a chinese triad gang leader backed by the yakuza, bashed him up for being friendly with his daughter. 2nd time: a fellowman asked him to look after the machine which he rigged (those gang zhu balls), and the triads found out and arrested him since he was seated there. And they sliced his hand off after shoving it into the scalding chestnut pot. So he was defaced and lost a hand. Jackie Chan decided to take revenge, found out about some plotting and managed to save another jap triad leader by the name Eguichi. Ironically Eguichi was the husband of Jackie Chan's long lost sweetheart, when they were back in China before. The sweetheart bore Eguichi a cute daughter. Eguichi offered terms with Jackie to kill 2 other jap leaders so that he can take control of the whole yakuza, in turn, Jackie takes control of the Shinjuku territories and gets 'proper' identification documents. After that he decided to let his other country men run the whole show while he just do legal business with his new found galfriend (should be played by Fan Bing Bing. Jackie Chan ALWAYS finds pretty gals to be on his movie sets...so typical of him)
Then i tot it was over, but there was a 2nd part after that which ended tragically, like all fates of secret societies.
Think it was fine, the show. If you're fine with violent cutting of body parts etc.
P.S Forgot to mention earlier part of the show, Jackie and Dan Wu MOONED the audiences, so those who are interested in seeing their full moons, yeah go ahead watever. Derek Yee (Producer) is funny, like kinda selling their butts slightly for the show :p
