Peachey said married ones should share how they met their spouses...here it goes (despite me being very busy today hehe)
In year 2000, started my first year in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) doing Accountancy course. In the first year and first semester, went for tutorials, and there were i think 5 guys only in the whole class, the rest were all girls. Mr Cloudz really stood out. He was very gentlemanly, and really good-looking, not just among the 5 guys in class, but in campus, one of the much better looking ones :p Not boasting..but tat was wat i tot. He really impressed me with his gentlemanly ways. Small little things like opening doors for people, giving way to people etc etc...quite chivalrous and hard to find in Singapore guys :) Soon enuff, i'm sure at least a few girls found him a good catch, and one of them managed to hook him within a short period of time. At that time i was with my ex-boyfriend, but i tot, wow the gal's really fast.
Once during an exam period in sem 2, we went to our classmate's hostel to chill out, by the time we left it was about i think 11 plus pm...Mr Cloudz' hostel was the opposite side of mine....yet becoz it's late, he offered to walk me all the way to my hostel. Was walking and talking and we toked about the first sem's result...told him i got 3As and 1 C, he was a bit surprised...guess tat was the only time i studied so hard...subsequently my results went downhill coz of another crush (but tats another story, which is sad). Digressing, Mr Cloudz got 2nd upper honours in the end, and i got 2nd lower honours. Okie back, yep he sent me to my hostel and i was pretty touched, i told my ex-boyfriend about how gentlemanly he was :p
At that time i was quarreling and fighting on and off with my ex. Break up, got back, break up, got back. In year 2 sem 2 was chatting with Mr Cloudz on ICQ, the contact i got from our mutual friend. Both of us typed very fast and replied each other fast, he said he seldom see the other party replied so promptly and he liked that; same sentiments. Dun like to wait very long for someone's replies online. We chatted happily online....till once i blurted out to him that i had a crush on him before. He said "You never know what will happen next time"...and yes it did happen now. I remembered i accidentally bumped into him in a carpark after that, and he was calling my name, i wanted to avoid him, but in the end got stopped by him. Can't remember, think before i told him i had a crush on him, i asked him out for lunch at a canteen on National Day and he was waiting for me with some notes on the table. Ate together, and i had an appointment quite soon after that, but was reluctant to leave, but he said he didn't know i had an appointment and was sorry for taking up my time.
Finally i decided to break up with my ex cleanly before i got together with Mr Cloudz. But my ex still called me from time to time. Mr Cloudz was invited to my hostel room once, and my ex called trying to persuade me to get back with him. Was arguing on the phone with Mr Cloudz around even...guess some photos he saw was of me and my ex somemore...a bit awkward. Anyway he brought some pandan cakes to eat as i was hungry.
Nearing Mr Cloudz' birthday in August, i decided to buy him a birthday present. Was shopping around with my varsity final year project mates while buying his present. So the first gift i gave him as a friend, was Havoc, body spray/perfume from Body Shop. When my gfs asked me who i was buying for, i just said, a good friend. In the end they found out, one of them teased Mr Cloudz in chinese "Xiang ma?" meaning "Is it fragrant? Nice to use?"...
Another time we went out that gf and another gal (mutual friends), walking around the hostels. After we decided to go back, i was wondering if i'd be making my way back alone, but was glad that Mr Cloudz offered to accompany me. In the end, we decided to take a 'tour' in the Chinese Heritage Centre as i said, everytime passed by, but never went in to see wat it's like. Like a mini-date, we walked in and saw the history of Singapore, devt. of the land areas, and how NTU evolved and its students photos. Quite nice. Hence that became a sweet memory for us and we went back there for our pre-wedding photoshoot as u saw in the photos. After that, he invited me back to his hostel room. Was just chatting, and was looking at his palms at love line, life line etc etc...then he held my hands suddenly...looked at each other, hugged...funny thing is i can't remember when and how he exactly kissed me for the 1st time. He told me he kissed me on the forehead first.
We dated, and part of it was to the nearest shopping mall from NTU, which was Jurong Point (both in the far west of SG, pretty isolated). We were with each other almost everyday since then. Ate a lot and watched movies, karaoke etc...in no time, we grew fat together...i cringe when i look back at our fat days :P After Uni graduation, we applied to the Big 4. Job market was very bad at that time year 2003. Was very fortunate to get into Ernst & Young, but for him he got into BDO. So we were both auditors. Working late at times, and i asked him job questions pretty frequently. We would go to each other houses' to stay. So we still saw each other almost everyday. Then later on, he moved to the Big 4 Deloitte & Touche. We spoke about marriage and stuff......last year we walked around window shopping for rings, and got into Soo Kee Jewellery shop to look at brilliant rose. And he sprung a surprise on my own birthday by proposing to me, coz usually gals will expect guys to propose on gals' birthdays and not the guys' so like wat i said in my Proposal blog entry previously, i became his birthday present. And u know the rest of the story...
Okie Peachey, can we see Mr Peach's photos please??? :)
