I think everyone debuts at least once in life.  As babies being born, we see the world for the first time while it looks at us with equal curiosity.  Before you know it, we’ve made our “debut” as human beings and proceed to spend the days ahead finding out what all of this means.  prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /

For some of us, we may even be lucky enough to find reasons to “debut” again.  It would appear that these reasons usually revolve around love and persistence; reasons that come straight to mind might be marriage, a new job or even some kind of religious calling.  For me, my reason to debut again was something like finding all of the above – music.

In 2009, I had the good fortune of releasing my first ever album in Hong Kong.  Since then, music has taken me to different parts of the world and to audiences all over, including where I am now – Japan.  On May 25 th, I made my official Japanese debut as a singer here in Tokyo with Avex, 2 years after my start in Hong Kong.  Re-introducing myself through song at a press convention conducted entirely in Japanese (my unfamiliar fourth language), even I myself was amazed that the whole thing went so smoothly.  Not only do I feel like this is a wonderful start to something new, but I also, through this experience, discovered a new meaning to another word, “begin”.

With the blissful exception of our lives’ beginning from our mother’s womb, anything else we “begin” from then on may ultimately be our own choice and responsibility.  Like they say, “what you reap is what you sow”.  With that said, I think I’m going to get back to sowing!
