From Jager Shots to Lunar Shoots

I wake up on Sunday reeking of booze, jagermeister seeping through my pores.

Bugger.

I'm supposed to meet film photographer Steve and his gf Anny in Kowloon.  They're here from Korea for the weekend and I'm taking them out to shoot photos.

Still retching from the excesses of the night before, I survey my collection of cameras before selecting the one that's easiest to load film into.  I bung a slide film in and take off into the 10am sun.

We go to Shanghai Street, negotiating the markets and old tenement buildings.

I take this medium format shot of Anny*, as she whips out her Contax T3 camera (what a beaut!) to capture a market scene: *hey trust me, it looks way better here:http://www.flickr.com/photos/justinlim/2865040212/ Later we head back to Sheung Wan and try our luck shooting around there.

We say our goodbyes and I hop onto a ferry bound for Discovery Bay.  There I meet another talented photographer friend of mine, Alex, who has invited a few people round for a moon festival supper. We spend the night sipping Asahi, feasting on BBQ wings, and watching F1 in the company of his photography books.

That sinking feeling I had when I woke up this morning is gone.

All days should be like this.
