Wishing a Happy Reunion for Both Man and the Moon |人月兩團圓|人月两团圆

Last night I participated in an annual mid-autumn festival celebratory event called 《Full Moon China》in Beijing. This year is even more special because October 1st is the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, mid-autumn festival is on October 3rd, and the event was held at the National Aquatic Center, Shui Li Fang, which was previously used as an Olympic Games venue.

I had rehearsals here the day before yesterday and it was the first time that I’d gone inside Shui Li Fang. I thought it was very special and unique how the organizers set up the stage in the middle of the pool! Not only that, I honestly feel extremely happy and excited being able to perform for everyone at a place where so many world records were broken!

I sang a song called 《The Half Moon Crawled Out》 from my new album. This song is a traditional folk song well known in Mainland China; the song has been passed down in various areas for over 20 years. At first when I recorded this song, I suddenly thought of a special idea. Because this particular song reminded me of a song in one of Mozart’s musical plays, Don Juan, I immediately made a suggestion to the music producer, Zhang Yadong, that the song from Mozart’s play be added into 《The Half a Moon Crawled Out》, combining the feelings and affections of traditional Chinese music with the graceful style of western classical music, and I’ll perform the high female vocal part. People were surprised and satisfied with the resulting outcome!

A lot of people who listen to me sing tend to say that they like my middle and low tone vocals, but I really want to tell everyone that I also enjoy singing the high pitched female vocals as well!

To coordinate with the performances for the mid-autumn festival concert, organizers arranged for the stage to be set up in the middle of the Shui Li Fang pool. On the stage, they especially created a moon for me to sit on, allowing me to wish everyone a “happy reunion for both man and moon” while singing this song at the same time.

Rehearsals have finished, now it’s time to prepare to go on stage.

Last but not least, I hope that everyone has a happy mid-autumn festival! | 昨天晚上在北京參加一個一年一度的中秋節盛會《月圓中華》。適逢今年 10月 1日是中華人民共和國成立 60周年的慶典，加上 10月 3日是中秋節，所以今年更加特別，於曾經舉行過奧運會比賽的水立方舉行。

前一天 彩排的時候， 是我第一次走進 水立方，看見大會把舞臺設在水中央，十分特別啊! 而且能夠在這個刷新了多個世界紀錄的地方為大家演唱，實在是非常高興又興奮！

這一次我演唱了的新專輯內的歌曲《半個月亮爬上來》，這首歌在內地也是一首為人熟識的經典民歌，在各地傳唱了二十多年。當初我在錄音的時候，忽然有個特別的想法，因為這首歌的旋律讓我聯想到莫扎特的歌劇《唐璜》中的其中一段選曲；我立刻向製作人張亞東提議將此歌劇選段加進《半個月亮爬上來》當中，將中國古典的含蓄情懷與西方古典的優雅氣派結合，而且由自己來演繹這一段女高音的部份，出來的效果是讓人出人意表地滿意！

很多人聽我唱歌都會說喜歡我的中低音聲音，但是我要跟大家說其實我也很喜歡唱唱女高音的！

中秋晚會的製作單位為了配合演唱，更加將舞臺設在水立方的游泳池中央，臺上特別製造了一個月亮讓我坐上去，一邊唱著這首歌曲祝願所有人都可以“人月兩團圓”
