Happy New Year to everyone here on AnD!
How's everyone spending the NY day? I remember back in the days when I was in HK, I usually spent Day1 visiting my paternal grandparents' house, and then my father would bring us to a movie at night; and on Day2, we went to visit my maternal grandparents' house, but since their house wasn't that big and there're many people, we usually ended up gathering at our uncle's big house. we would spend the entire day eating and playing games, and sure collected as many red pockets as possible...it was so much fun.
But then since we came to the US, all these NY funs were gone... although SF Bay Area is considered an area with enormous Chinese population, and indeed you could still feel quite the celebration if you go to Chinatown, or grab a Chinese newspaper or simply check the Chinese tv channel, it still makes you feel very different coz most of the relatives are not around and there is no more New Year gathering (and red pockets!!)...
The closest thing I got that kinda matches the fun was a few years ago when some of my very good friends had a hot pot gathering at my house in Chinese New Year eve. It was really the best CNY I had since I left HK...well, but thinking about that, most of these good friends are either back to HK (or other part of the world) and the remaining ones are busy with the own life... time really flies!
So I guess, to me the most important and precious thing about CNY is the opportunities for me and the one I care to really get together and enjoy the moment...
Anyway, this year I hope I can finish the feature script I have been working on for a while, and also try something different... I don't know what it is, but I guess I just want some new experience!
May all your dreams come true!
Don't forget your dream!
