"The Voice" audition - do or don't ?

Okay... so I just got this email yesterday from a producer from the show, asking me to come audition next week, but (1) it's in Chicago and (2) I'm not certain about the fine print. I've heard that you gotta sign a contract in order to audition but I don't know what all this entails.

Plus I'm not sure I wanna be in Chicago during this time of year due to all the winter weather.

Your suggestions and comments will be greatly appreciated :)
