I just came back from a whirlwind trip to Hong Kong - mainly to attend a workshop with one of my acting mentors, Jeanne Hartman. She was conducting a two-day workshop, but due to filming commitments, I could only make it for the second day.It was a great experience nonetheless. I haven’t attended an acting class since January when I was in Sydney, Australia, for a month to take summer classes at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), so this was a wonderful time to refresh myself & work with other like-minded people.I love being in an environment with people who share the same passions, and speak the same ‘language’ of performing. It just inspires me so much, and there is such a strong sense of togetherness. We come from different countries, different backgrounds, different experiences, but we bonded over the same medium of acting. It was awesome. And Jeanne is so nurturing, allowing us to grow and explore at our own paces. This trip was worth it - a time away from familiarity, a time spent studying the craft, a time with other beautiful individuals.
