We decided to postpone the game's launch a little but all for good reasons. We have some great additions and tuning stuff learned from the Darkspore beta test and want to get it all wrapped up nice for launch.
If you get the game you can also see the cutscene cinematics I made with our motion graphics artist Brandon Sugiyama. All illustrations taken into after effects. The best ones are in the end of the game when we figured out wtf we were doing.
Great process involving 6 months of storyboards, motion tests, painting painting painting, dailies and somehow we ended up with a bunch of short movies telling the story of the game. Thanks to our studio Maxis for having faith in us to tackle this! We had to step up our game to get this one done and we are proud of the result.
