Overworked and Under The Gun

It is getting down the wire with some of my projects.  The amount of work I have to do between now and when I leave on Tuesday night is pretty much ridiculous.  The only saving grace is that Ruhi is around to keep me company, although she is also super busy cataloging film for her project.

So, the wedding stuff is actually the least stressful of everything.  We are having a pretty simple ceremony and there isn’t that much complicated stuff to do, so we are doing well on that front.  Sure, there are things we have yet to finish, but nothing that seems extraordinarily impossible or complex.

But work is crazy.  I’m jugging more projects than most design firms usually have to handle with a full staff of people.  Back when I was working at Design Reactor, even when we were busy, I usually would only be working on 3 – 5 client projects at any given time.

Here is a list of my current projects:

The ones with an asterix* have milestones or deliveries due within the week.

And on top of that, I’m also packing to move to China.  Granted, I am feeling a bit more secure about this project since I don’t have a ton of stuff to begin with and a lot of it is already organized, but it is still a big task.  I have to have it done by Monday, for the most part.

Not much time for exercise right now, so I’m glad that I might be able to go practice at the wushu school in Seattle when I’m there for a day next week.  It has been too long!  And my “dark” period in Haiti will be good for me too.  Not having easy access to the internet will probably do me some good.  I need a vacation, or at least a small break from the work-load.

Anyway, not much to do but get down to it.  Just have to power through all of this and get stuff done.  4 days and counting…. Let’s just hope my stress-induced gout doesn’t resurface! ;-)

Thank goodness I’m at least getting enough sleep each night.  Usually 9 hours, but then I’m working pretty much straight for the other 13 hours in the day (with breaks for food and the occasional episode of “Arrested Development”), but now it is time to sleep again, so I’m going to say adios.

Next Stop … cupcake-ville …
