First Run through for "I, Ching"

We had our first run through of the whole show last night.  It was pretty scary since we had a bit of an audience and "Roadshow" came to do some interviews with us.  I, of course, was a total dork in my interview.  It's hard enough to explain how I feel playing the part of Jiang Ching...let alone say it all in my terrible Cantonese.  I hope the edits will make me look a little less of a dork... My mother came to watch as well...and mom doesn't ever lie to me about anything....That means, I can alway count on her to give me the truth...even if it hurts  so, I must admit, I was a little worried about what she'd say about my acting.  And, I was relieved once she told me I did a good job.  I was surprised that she enjoyed the show even though a lot of scenes still needed to be cleaned up and we had a lot of mistakes during the run.  For instance, me forgetting my lyrics and just singing "la la la" for a whole verse.  And, a great big tear in my pants when I did one of the dance moves.  (It's a good thing that we tried all of our costumes)  As an actress, my mom also understands that we still have 3 wks of rehearsal and plenty of time for improvements. I guess that's what's so nice about having a mother in the industry.  I am very thankful for that!  So, all is good.  We have 5 more full run throughs of the show before heading to LA.  That's pretty nice. I still remember doing my first show in HK and the first run through was also our first show!  Talk about stress!  Thank goodness that's not the case for "I, Ching".    Once we get to LA we have 10 days of rehearsal with the rest of the cast from LA.  Excitement!  And, I'm looking forward to performing in my hometown.  It will be nice to perform for family, friends, special people...for the first time.  For anyone who is going to be in LA, please come and watch!  The website for "I, Ching" is http://www.ichingthemusical.com/#!home/mainPageAnd, you can contact Charlie Gu at cgu@dlapr.com     to buy your tickets!!!  Thanks for your support!!![](/attachments/2012/08/21/15/23285_201208211552332.thumb.jpg)
