Here are some of the guys who i train with and are getting me ready for my Brazilian Jiujitsu competition:
for those who haven't heard yet, i've been training for the past few months to compete in my first BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) and MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) Competition in Bangkok next month. i've lost 19kgs (over 40lbs!) in the past 7 weeks, but still need to lose another 6kgs to get to my optimal fight weight and to make the weight class that i'd like to fight in (under 70kg).
anyhow, i'm expecting to get my ass kicked as most people dont compete in BJJ competitions without at least a year or two experience in training...Read more

so i just got back from Manila and Tagaytay for my friends' Sarah and Banjo's wedding. it's been a few years since i was back in the Philippines and it was good to catch up with old friends, make new ones and laugh at the ridiculous goings on and happenings in the Philippines. here are some funny moments captured on film:
we've got some new dishes on our menu at South Bay Bistro. now that the weathers warm again, the outdoor terrace is in full swing too. come by for a bite and a drink or two or three.
so i wrote about the Team USA - Redeem Team visiting Racks Shanghai back in August. thank you Team USA for taking back the gold! i didn't know it at the time, but the kind folks at Nike got LeBron James to sign a pair of his Zoom Soldier II shoes for me! it took a while, but i finally got them this past weekend. Thanks Eric Wei for hooking it up!
here are some pix from the Hennessy party last week in Shanghai. Wycelf rocked it. AnD Artist, Mavis Fan opened for Wycelf and they did a song together with Mavis on the flute. it was a great show. Jay Chou was a bit dissappointing as he lacked charisma, character, conviction and didnt actually sound that good...but the girls were still wetting their panties over him.
Lost 26 lbs in the past 6 weeks. only 16.5 lbs more to go before Sept. 18th and my first MMA Competition in Bangkok!!!
