China Earthquake - Moment of Silence and Prayers

Lets take a moment of silence for those that were lost today in the major earthquake that hit China, and say our prayers for the families of those students that are still trapped. My heart is with them all!!

Over 7800 feared dead and over 10000 injured. 900 young students are buried under debris.

"Up to 5,000 people were reported to have been killed in a single Chinese county today after a major earthquake struck a densely populated area of in the southwestern province of Sichuan.

The quake, with a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale, flattened schools, offices and houses in Sichuan, and caused widespread damage in nearby Gansu and Yunnan as well as the sprawling municipality of Chongqing. The tremor was felt in cities across southeast Asia as far as Bangkok, more than 1,200 miles from the epicentre." taken from world wide help websiteOVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS I am sure that there will be more information as to how we can help out in any and which ways possible. I am interested once more information is available in meeting with a bunch of Alive Not Dead artists to see what we can do to help out the painful situation in Sichuan. Please PM me or comment if you are interested in doing something. I will continue to look for information on helping out. Latest  online News Stories:

NPR has two correspondents on the ground in Sichuan. Today they were at the site of the collapsed school reporting live. NPR will have a lot of good coverage in the days to come. To hear this story and others as they are broadcast, go to: www.npr.org. (This site is probably blocked in the People's Republic of China)

Hi MissyK I am a newly returned HK citizen photographer from UK. Watching the news makes it unbearable as a lot of children from schools are dead as a parent too. I proposed that we should have a meeting and arrange a massive charity sale at the Hong Kong Conventional Centre or somewhere huge or even across the world as ALIVENOTDEAD is quite international and involve a lot of nationalities. As a lot of money will be needed for rebuilding a REALLY HUGE area. Chairman of the NPC Wu Bangguo is doing a super job of giving moral support to all the people involved - both the victims' families and workers / helpers.

Sorry I mean, Premier 溫家寶 Wen Jiabao. He is a super guy. He came to see Hong Kong victims during the SARS problem too @ Amoy Garden. I am not very good with their Mandarin / English spelling. But I am sure all the officials are solidify on this issue and doing various different things.

Latest is 14000-15000 died and many more missing. I am also urging all the artists from ALIVENOTDEAD.COM to join together in some kind of charity exhibition / sales to raise funds for this terrible event.
