Of the array of human emotions, fear is one of those we experience the least often as compared to the rest. Sinema hopes to inspire yet another visual experience for audiences to celebrate interesting, and untold horror stories. We also hope it would be a good opportunity for filmmakers to venture into this underrated genre and to interact with various professionals in the process.
Selected entries are award-winning films such as Eden Lake, Ghost Game, Karak, and the 2010 Cannes grand prize winner Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives. These films promises to not only scare you but even redefine the way you think, in true independent film spirit.
For centuries, fairytales have been written and told to children to help them gain an innocent and fantasized understanding of the world they live in, while shielding them from the cruelty and harm of the real world.
In this age of technology, however, kids no longer need to search very hard to learn what the world is about. Information is poured to them via electronic devices that permeate every aspect of their lives, in school, at home, even in the streets. The veil that used to hide the world behind a shade of mystery is gone, and fairytales are no longer called upon to induct the kids to their world.
